Treasure Island Florida
Treasure Island Florida is blessed with three miles of gorgeous white sand beaches that boast that “Old Florida” feel. Treasure Island offers a quiet “laid back” atmosphere while being just a short drive from Florida’s major theme parks. The main draw is not buried treasure, but the beach life – swimming, shelling, sunning, snorkeling, parasailing and, of course, the memorable sunsets.
Treasure Island got its name from an early hotel owner who buried and then “discovered” a couple of wooden chests on the beach. The hotelier claimed that the chests were filled with “treasure.” News of the discovery spread quickly, and people began calling the area Treasure Island. The name stuck.
Treasure Island Florida is in Pinellas County, on the highly coveted white sand beaches. It’s south of Clearwater, north of St. Pete Beach and west of St. Petersburg. Treasure Island has a population of nearly 7,000 residents.

Treasure Island Florida hosts annual community events. These events that create opportunities for its community to interact, celebrate, and enrich residents’ and visitors’ lives. Treasure Island has an active community calendar. Activities include a kite festival, Sunset Beach yard sale, an Easter Egg Hunt, pirate-themed volleyball tournament, 4th of July Fireworks, and a holiday boat parade.
