Cinnamon Crunch Crinkle Pie (a.k.a. Custard Phyllo Pie)
This Cinnamon Crunch Crinkle Pie (a.k.a. Custard Phyllo Pie) was a total crowd pleaser! Personally, I’m not a big custard fan. It’s often way too thick and leaves a weird greasy film on my mouth.
However, I was perusing the net for desserts that are good to make in a cast iron pan and this Cinnamon Crunch Crinkle Pie came up on Bon Appetite. Usually their recipes call for somewhat more unique ingredients or are a bit more advanced than I personally like to attempt. But this one seemed simple enough, looked tasty, so I figured why not give it a shot?
I’m soooooo glad I did!!!! It’s rich, but not too rich. It’s got some crunch. It’s got some sweet. And the best part, I could eat the custard by itself all. day. long! It’s just that good!
I’m a firm believer in following the recipe to the letter the first time I try one. And the second go-around, my only tweak to the Cinnamon Crunch Crinkle Pie: I opted to add 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract the second time I made it.
